I strongly disagree with this taxonomic swap. See Savage et al for discussion about this issue: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15264635/

@culextarsalis Yes, sorry for the confusion. I'm in the process of changing the mosquito taxonomy in iNat from Ochlerotatus back into Aedes but in order to do so, I needed to merge duplicate taxon pages from Aedes into Ochlerotatus, which is now taxonomically classified as a subgenus of Aedes in iNat. I need to make a few more changes so that the binomial name reflects the changes, so expect all Ochlerotatus species to revert to Aedes here in a while.

See this flag for more discussion on the subject. https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/488496

Going through the motions of reinstating Ochlerotatus as a subgenus of Aedes has been tedious and complex. I apologize for the confusing taxon changes, but everything will be correct soon.

Thanks for the clarification, and for performing this task.

Happy to help. It's nice to have this finally done. I've been planning to for months now, but wanted to do it the correct way as per iNat guidelines. I'll remember in the future to add sources and descriptions for my taxon changes to avoid confusion.
