Hurricane Michael

It has been such a tough week watching the news reports continue to roll in showing the devastation to this area we all love. It will take years to restore the human component of this area, but the flora and fauna may be forever changed. The new passes created in the peninsula, if allowed to remain, will alter water currents and salinity levels. It will be interesting to see how it all affects this ecosystem. We will just have to keep making observations and see!

St. Joseph Island?

This will be an interesting debate to follow:

Should the Eagle Harbor pass remain? Should they put in a bridge or a ferry? Or should it be filled in with rip rap and dredged sand? Any iNat folks in the area have an opinion?
