At 9AM local time Monday morning, the global organizers of the City Nature Challenge took a snapshot of our data and came up with these numbers:
4,128 observations
1015 species
297 observers
For the record, we'll add that there were 33 project members and 305 identifiers.
Here's the comparison with last year:
Observations: 2,976 in 2023; 4,128 in 2024
Species: 811 in 2023; 1015 in 2024
Observers: 223 in 2023; 297 in 2024
Identifiers: 259 in 2023; 305 in 2024
Project members: 44 in 2023; 33 in 2024
It is wonderful to see these numbers growing by so much!
Thank you to everyone who participated, especially the field trip leaders and identifiers! We hope everyone had a good time, learned a new species or two, and got outside in some of the beautiful and biodiverse areas of western Massachusetts.
We'll see you next year!
