7.5ish hours left and 24,634 IDs done. How's it going? Did you set personal goals or are you taking a relaxed approach?

Last page to check 3,000 observations in insects, don't know how much longer I'll be able to stay after that, it's already evening, but almost no pain in hands today, so I'll try to do as much as I can.
I mostly ID marine fish, so identifying all these unknowns has been a real challenge! Thanks to @paloma for coaching me through some super basic IDs. I now know what a dicot is!
I completely forgot about this, and am a little annoyed that my app didn't show me these journal posts. Making a start now; plan A is unknowns of Ireland, but there's not a huge number of those. Then I'll head "home" to the UK and be overwhelmed by the comparative size of the pile.
I could be doing a lot more if I had a reliably responsive computer. It seems after a few hundred IDs, my browser/computer just crawls to a screeching halt and I spend most of my time waiting for it to respond again. Anyone else having these issues or is it just my ancient computer?
We're opened up a contiguous 10 state+5 canadian province hole of 0 unknowns (except 1 where CID is off grrr)
North dakota+south dakota+montana+wyoming+idaho+utah+oregon+nevada+saskatchewan+manitoba+nunavut+northwest territories+yukon+alaska+iowa
Edited to add Nevada which is now done. Easiest way to expand the contiguous blob is finish Iowa or Nebraska and then Kansas
Edited to add 3 more Canadian territories+Alaska, Nunavut was already part of the blob, sorry Canadians for overlooking it
Edit: Iowa is clear of unknowns now although it was so many multi-species observations from that field trip I was relieved to finally see a picture of a single potted plant
Edit: Kansas cleared just outside the time limit but it isn't part of the contiguous swatch yet because Nebraska still has 523 left.
OK, three hours to go and it's time for the final push. Since it is late afternoon here in New England, I'm going to indulge in a refreshing beverage while working away. I know I've pulled just over a thousand Unknowns into Known status so far - maybe I can add another 200 or even 300?
Guys, that's amazing! Well done! I'm just going through them at random, pulling out what I can. I have family commitments so it's been a bit hit and miss, but I'm tucking myself away in the spare room for the next couple of hours while my husband parents.
I decided to work on Kingdom Animalia instead of Unknowns which, for some reason, irritate me when I'm not in the right mood.
I have scanned a lot of scat, squinted at a lot of tracks in the snow, and have learned an awful lot about Caddisfly and Gastropod eggs.
When I needed a break, I went to the Collaboration pages for a while. Saw a lot of familiar names there.
Just spent some time going through a few pages of Unknowns but my brain is fried from learning so much and my back is aching from sitting so long so I'm done.
This was a great experience

I really like the collaboration link!

Wow! I know several of those states are the lowest in terms of iNat use, but still! and Oregon must have taken a lot of work.
It is true that clearing all the unknowns from North Dakota did not take very long

27808 IDs had been made when I checked about 5 min ago. And yes @lynnharper you're spot on with your own tracking of your IDs!

Plugging along when I can fit time in. Better to be able to say I've cleared 16 Wisconsin counties than compare progress to the whole state. :D
Hey, @driftlessroots, I'm working on Wisconsin right now, too! We can do it! (maybe....)
@lynnharper I know! I was in the process of puzzling over that skunk cabbage(?) piece when your ID popped up. LOL
I'll jump on Wisconsin as well. It's more fun with a target :D
@driftlessroots, I just saw one of yours, too! I'll have to refresh more often.
28,947 that's an increase of over 1000 in the last hour. You're on fire!
Or alternatively, unknowns are down about 17,500 since event start.

You guys are all amazing and it makes me happy to see the strong teamwork. :)
