Bill to Ban the Trophy Hunting of Bobcats in California Passes Out of Assembly, Humane Society of the United States Reports.

Over the past 10 years, nearly 10,000 bobcats have been killed in California. A small number of trophy hunters are responsible for killing most of the bobcats who have been hunted in California. Samantha Hagio, wildlife protection director for the Humane Society of the United States, issued the following statement:

“The Humane Society of the United States is thankful to the California Assembly for passing AB 1254. No one is killing bobcats for food – they’re slaughtered for nothing more than a trophy by a tiny minority of the population.
