I'm a high school science teacher in El Paso, Texas. I have a M.S. and Ph.D. from New Mexico State University. I studied resource partitioning in rattlesnakes and the role of secondary compounds in Creosotebush replacement of grasslands, respectively. My primary interest is desert ecology. I'm currently a volunteer for Celebration of Our Mountains (celebmtns@gmail.com), a non-profit educational organization here in El Paso, and current president of the El Paso Cactus and Rock Club. I teach for the Texas Parks and Wildlife's Master Naturalist program where I lecture on Desert Ecology, Herpetology, Invertebrate Zoology, and Mammalian Ecology. I'm also a photographer and musician.
