I am a former entomophobe, but came to love insects by way of learning - first by reading titles like Parasite Rex and For Love of Insects, then by macro photography. Insects helped me build an appreciation for other parts of our world - plants, birds, even viruses. But my first and strongest love is for parasitic wasps. I did always enjoy Alien as a kid...

Located in the Minneapolis, MN area, regularly dreaming of South/Central American rainforests. I am perpetually in search of Megarhyssa! I also love making regular visits to small geographic patches. (yay The Forest Unseen)

This year I'm trying to become more familiar with "proper" wasp identification - Heather Holm's guide to Eastern North American Wasps has been a major resource and inspiration for me. I'm grateful for all who have shared their knowledge and resources in identification. Hoping I can do my part to support the iNaturalist community!
