I enjoy many outdoor activities, any excuse to get outside. Birds catch my attention. I grew up traveling the backroads on weekends for picnics as a youngster, worked in destination resorts including Yosemite, and then was drawn to the study of birds and their habitats. I am currently a biogeography professor in New Mexico. My goal is to inspire others to find and appreciate the beauty and complexity of nature in everyday activities.
