I am the Land Steward at a community college, I work on a team of Faculty and Staff to manage 16 acres of wet prairie with a Post Oak Savanna. This area is used as a student research site for many disciplines within the college. This is a rare resource at the community college level. Our students benefit from an on campus research site as well as research opportunities that are not commonly available to students of a two year institutions. We are currently in the 3rd year of restoration, and I am looking forward to sharing our finding from the pollinator gardens, host plants, and nectaries that we are fostering as we move forward with our restoration efforts. I am an avid naturalist as well, and will post pictures of observations from many other areas that my family and I adventure to as well!
