I see myself as an avid birdwatcher whose passion for the avian world knows no bounds. With an infectious enthusiasm for feathered creatures and an insatiable curiosity, my journey into the world of birdwatching began in my childhood backyard. From my first sighting of a Trogons vibrant plumage to the melodious song of a warbler, I was captivated by the diversity and beauty of birds.
My passion for birds has taken me on countless expeditions, from the lush forests of the Asian continent, the rugged cliffs of the Scottish Highlands, the wild savanna plains of Africa and the remote Australian Outback. Armed with my trusty pair of binoculars and field guide, I enjoy my ventures into the great outdoors, eager to catch a glimpse of elusive species and witness the marvels of migration firsthand.
For me, birdwatching is more than just a hobby; it's a way of life. I
m happy to spend hours meticulously studying bird behaviour, learning their calls, and identifying subtle differences in plumage. Whether I`m observing a majestic eagle soaring overhead or marvelling at the delicate grace of a fairy-wren, each encounter deepens my appreciation for the natural world.
My passion extends beyond mere observation. I am also a dedicated citizen scientist, fiercely committed to protecting the habitats that birds depend on for survival.
One of my greatest joys is sharing my love for birds with others. Whether I’m leading guided birdwatching tours for beginners or out on big day birding adventures with friends and family, I delight in sparking curiosity and fostering a deeper connection to nature in people of all ages.
Through my lens, I see the world as a vibrant tapestry woven together by the delicate threads of birdlife. Each species, from the smallest sparrow to the most majestic raptor, plays a vital role in the intricate ecosystem that sustains life on Earth. AS I continue with my journey as a birdwatcher, I hope to inspire others to join me in cherishing and protecting this precious heritage for generations to come.

My profile picture is that of the magnificent male Scarlet-chested Parrot I was thrilled to encounter with friends and family at Gluepot Reserve South Australia.
