from Arroyo, Puerto Rico and The Bronx, New York with a special interest in herpetology! I am the top observer of amphibians inside of New York City, and am working towards getting a better idea of how the local amphibian communities are distributed through the metropolis. I trace their stories, re-introduction events, pet releases, remnant populations etc because urbanization does not look to be slowing and ecosystems in places like the boogie down bronx will signal the fate of what lies beyond the city limits. I want to help us understand how organisms cope and how we preserve the life that remains .
I use my platform to be a voice for victims of environmental racism, systemic injustice, and the legacy of colonialism.
We all have our roles to play in life's collective struggle against the universe's call to entropy, and I eat colonizers for breakfast.
Feel free to tag me for help with ID, I am good with birds of the Americas, Puerto Rican anolis lizards, North American amphibians and snakes, and general soil/leaf litter organisms. I am practicing my ant ID so feel free to tag me in anything related to that as well.
Currently researching: Gray Tree Frogs (Dryophytes veriscolor) in NYC.

"To accept one's past-one's history-is not the same thing as drowning in it; it is learning how to use it. An invented past can never be used; it cracks and crumbles under the pressures of life like clay in a season of drought."
-James Baldwin
"Each man is good in the sight of the Great Spirit. It is not necessary, that eagles should be crows."
-Sitting Bull
“The first man who, having enclosed a piece of ground, bethought himself of saying This is mine, and found people simple enough to believe him, was the real founder of civil society. From how many crimes, wars and murders, from how many horrors and misfortunes might not any one have saved mankind, by pulling up the stakes, or filling up the ditch, and crying to his fellows, "Beware of listening to this impostor; you are undone if you once forget that the fruits of the earth belong to us all, and the earth itself to nobody.”
