A solo visit to see if the field was still there, whether any Common Yuccas were blooming, and if any yuccas had any yucca moths. I had to wait several hours for the rain to end. I found only one Common Yucca with open flowers, and there were at least 11 moths inside (two bailed at my contact with the flower, and 9 or 10 were in another flower. After that, I did not check any more flowers. This marks the first record of any yucca moth in Pasco County; I will inquire about ownersrhip of the property, which the county uses as a dumping ground from Engle Park and to remove sand for the ball fields. There are many more Common Yuccas waiting to bloom After that, I walked Engle Park east back to my rental car (Jet is in the hospital). I left around 1900.
