Red-tailed or red shouldered. It was hard to tell from that distance but it was very light colored underneath.
sorry for phone quality :( i think the silhouette should give it away with narrow wings and large size compared to other falcons. It was circling and doing sudden rapid flaps like raptors typically do. Definitely not a gull either, especially with the flying style and it was much smaller
Life is made
This is a terrible picture, but you can vaguely see the large owl's wings in the sky behind the eucalyptus branches. I was walking under the tree and heard a loud ruckus in the branches. A huge barn owl emerged from the tree and flew to the next eucalyptus tree along the trail. I couldn't get a good shot because the tree branches were in the way.
As I approached the second eucalyptus, the owl again emerged from the tree and flew to the next eucalyptus in along the trail. I found an owl pellet under the second tree. Eventually, the owl flew off toward the east.
Here's the owl pellet found under the second eucalyptus tree:

I saw it right next to community college! wow
Unusually dark plumage
deceased fox under porch.
witnessed the hawk attacking the Ravens.
In this photo there are two (presumably) Golden Eagles - one is flying into the tree and the other is perched in the tree.
