Common forest tree - turkeyberry. The lumps and bumps (2nd photo) are very common - it is seldom one sees a specimen with a regular trunk; one of the characters by which the species is known. But this specimen has a burr in addition to the usual bumps and lumps.
Note - the leaves at right above the burr belong to the tree adjacent, not this one.
Here's hoping it belongs to the indigenous climber and not the invasive one that is proliferating on all the expensive clearvu barriers the authorities have been spending millions on.
