Just popped up in shady area of our garden after the rain...
Drop dead gorgeous! and abundant in all the areas I explored in Fiordland last week (Falls Creek catchment, Cirque Creek, Gertrude Valley, and Homer area). Common along rivers, creeks, old dry stream beds, and adjacent shrublands, wetlands, and tussock grasslands.
Lower one only. Attracted to light from Heath trap.
Mayfly? Bright yellow where wings attach.
Very long tails . Found near stream.
The small one
Easily the most patient of the moths on the bush, was not bothered by my light.
