On hardwood chip mulch.
No distinctive odor; taste mildly fungoid.

In wood chips surrounded by pine. The wood chips are probably pine, as well.
I saw one, then another two, and then realized they were lining the trail on both sides! So many Stinky squids!
I didn’t want to uproot the mushroom. There was one knocked over (third photo) but I can’t tell much from it.
