Aside from a picture of a seed pod, which I brought home with me, I was unable to take pictures of the trees at the time. The leaves are pinnate (at first I thought it was a black Locust, except the pods were not right) and the trees are relatively small (perhaps 11-15 feet); Google earth street view shows the trees but resolution is not good enough to zoom in to leaf-level detail. City of Toronto may be able to confirm what they planted as the boulevard strip on which these trees are appears to be city vs. private property in an area ost likely zoned as commercial.

This tree has always caught my eyes with it's aggressively large seed pods. Through the research I am doing for this project I have learned that it is a Kentucky coffee tree. They are found everywhere in Toronto
