Sphinx Moth caterpillars
A Red Coachwhip (Coluber flagellum piceus) was found in a residential property apparently taking some shelter in the moist dirt of a elevated potted ivy plant (5 feet off the ground). It was offered water, which it rapidly consumed and carefully transferred to an open area of the rural property it was found on, away from domestic animals. Approximately 4 feet in length.
