This was found growing at ground level at the same level as the Bird's-eye Gilia (Gilia tricolor) it was found growing among.Very short main stem to the flowering buds.
Commonly seen growing behind Norma Hamlin Park,formerly known as Snipes Park.The stem is approx. 2 to 3 inches in length with flowers being a light lavender to purple in color.
Two B. nana on left for comparison. The B. rosea ssp vallicola (right) does not have a constricted floral tube and petals are not as widely spreading as in B. nana. Scape height on both B. nana and B. rosea ssp. vallicola are similar at this location.
A few of these very small flowers were still in bloom here.
