.5 to .75 DM tall. Strong/wondefrul odor like floral cloves. 15 stems in flower. Found by smell(first smelled while biking). This is on National Forest Land. It is about 10 feet from a black locust flagged for cutting by the NFS fire crew. I put two pink flags around the population.

One of the most beautiful fragrances I have ever experienced.

Found on Three Top Mountain Game Land Preserve. Located in a Montane Seep environment, three noticeable individual plants at different stages of blossoming. Zygomorphic blooms only observed in a light shade of pink. Leaves seemed to be long and ovate, with an alternating growth pattern. Love me a good orchid.

Found in a now dry former lake bed. This was in the same area/habitat as this observation but different individual.

Found in a now dry former lake bed. I think this may be S. lacera based on the green spot on the lower lip. I liked how this plant displayed the entire development from buds at the top to flowers to seed pods starting to form at the bottom.
