Was walking on the trail and saw this handsome fellow stray out of the woods, glance at us for a while. It clicked in my head to take out my binoculars and instead of struggle taking photographs, I successfully managed to get these beautiful photographs of this guy. After staring us down, they went back into the woods.

I was meaning to get a binoculars photograph of a coyote this year, so I’m more than overjoyed at this photo. Next hopefully I’ll manage to photograph a seal through my binoculars!

As an aside, according to kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem FN) educational material, per https://x.com/Kwikwetlem/status/1557040765510987778, the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ (downriver Halkomelem) term for Coyote is sk̓ək̓iyəp. Considering there are dialect variations dependent on the FN, there is no guarantee that this is the term used by the Musqueam here but learning new things every day!
