I am a geologist and for my work I spend a lot of time in the field. What I love about my job is that I go off trail in the middle of the macchia many times, finding many beautiful critters.

I started using Inaturalist to learn more about them during a research stay in Japan. There, I was walking uphill in mountain streams in the forested areas of Shikoku, discovering arachnids, reptiles, amphibians, and even traces of small mammals everyday.

Spiders are my favorite taxon - and I love the genus Argiope the most.
