I am a researcher and amateur naturalist. My work focuses on molecular aspects of forest tree disease - the population genomics and systematics of fungal pathogens, microbial ecology of diseased tree tissues, molecular host-pathogen interactions, and improving surveillance for emerging threats to forest health. While I spend most days writing or in the lab, I get outdoors at every opportunity and try to document what I see!
