The Baja California slider (Trachemys nebulosa) is turtle belonging to the Trachemys genus of the family Emydidae. It is native to Baja California, Sinaloa and Sonora in Mexico.
In Baja Mexico, the only turtles with a colored ear are the Pond slider and the Black-bellied slider. However, the Black bellied slider has a orange or dull yellow "ear", while the pond slider has a red "ear", which makes them very easy to distinguish with a decent photo. Also, the black bellied slider is much bigger than most red-eared sliders, and sometimes has a long "nose".
This species is poorly known, but likely thriving and in no need of conservation.
