Description 2

Epiphytic.

Brachionidium diaphanum is only known from four herbarium specimens collected in Bolivia in a localised area of the Cochabamba department. A collection from Peru is uncertain.

Habitat Type 2

Mossy cloud forests. It occurs within the Yungas habitat, which contains steep slopes and has high rainfall and is covered by montane and submontane forest, at an altitude ranging from 400 m to 3,700 m (Macleod et al. 2005).
