The Indian Cuckoo (Cuculus micropterus) is a member of the cuckoo order of birds, the Cuculiformes, that is found in Asia from Pakistan and India, Sri Lanka east to Indonesia and north to China and Russia. It is a solitary and shy bird, found in forests and open woodland at up to 3,600 m.
It is a common migrant to Singapore.
It favours wooded areas.
The adult has a greyish head with brownish upperparts and barred underparts. The juvenile also has barred underparts, but has pale-tipped feathers on head and upperparts.
The adult can be confused with typical morph Himalayan Cuckoo, which is greyish rather than brownish.
