Shape: 75 feet tall, pyramidal shape when young, oval to gumdrop shape when older
Branching: Alternate
Leaf: Lobed, 5 to 7 lobes, 3 to 6 inches long, dark green color, turns deep red in fall
Flower: Small yellow-green flowers in separate male and female catkins
Bark: Shallow ridges and furrows, color is gray-brown
Fruit or Seed: Acorns, up to 0.5 inch long
