Common seabream, is a species of fish in the family Sparidae. It is found in a wide variety of locations that range from Europe to the Caribbean.

Juveniles are easily recognised by the white tips of the tail fin and live in shallow water. Adults live in deeper water and are only occasionally found in shallow water as well.

Lives mainly on molluscs, crabs and small fishes.

Also known as Red Porgy and along the Gulf Coast as White Snapper.
