Are we sure that this is correct? It would appear that Pisania and Prodotia come from different families under the Buccinoidea super family. I note that Beechey thought it possible that P.Unicolor could be a synonym for p.Gracilis, P.Gracilis Sowerby1859 still accepted by WoRMS as valid species. https://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=491249

Worms Citation is for P.Gracilis Reeve 1846 - originally described as buccinum gracile reeve 1846.

Okay, this is really strange – there are two pages:

and

I suspect this is a mistake by WoRMS: the original names of either species are, as far as I can tell, different species. However, WoRMS has (accidentally?) assigned both to the same name, yet separate authors.

I think Beechey is more on the money about P.Gracilis and P.Unicolor both recognised by WoRMS. P.Gracilis Reeve seems to be a different tropical species

My new understanding is that this isn't a mistake by WoRMS, but just a very confusing taxonomic situation. I was alerted to it by @profmollusc, but didn't look into the situation enough to understand that we were both looking at the wrong taxon (Buccinum gracile=Pisania gracilis=Prodotia lannumi instead of Phos gracilis=Pisania gracilis).
I have restored Pisania gracilis as valid and that name can now be used. Sorry about this mix up!
