After an uneventful day at the Newton Woods and the Reservoir, I decided to go back to the Webster Conservation Area to search for fungi instead. It was a chilly day, but the trees around me blocked the wind and made the area less cold. Instead of taking my usual path, I chose to walk a different direction, which led me to a new undiscovered area full of different types of fungi. As I walked around, I managed to record findings of many fungi grown on the branches or bases of trees. Aside from fungi, I also stumbled across a massive lake with a beautiful view. Overall, it was a nice day at Webster and I am glad I got to discover more it.

I spent around a hour walking around the Webster Conservation Area for the first time. I initially wanted to go there on an earlier day, but rain decided to disturb my walk. As I walked down the stone path down to the forest entrance, I came across another conservation area called Old Deer. I decided to venture there first before making my way to the main site. I observed some beautiful American Pokeweed (?) and Red Baneberry on the branches next to me. Despite today not being the most sunny, the beautiful colors of the branches and fruits stood out like a field of flowers on a summer day. My walk down the Old Deer Conservation Area ended rather quickly with a locked gate. I retraced my steps and finally went into Webster, where I found a comically large stick and brought it with me throughout my walk. As I walked down the path, I came across some mushrooms (Pink Sherbet Polypore?) underneath a log and found myself accidentally standing on a piece of moss that hid underneath a bed of leaves. The moss must've formed deep into the ground judging by the squishiness when I pressed my shoe on it. After awhile of following the same path, I decided to go off course and go deeper into the forest. I didn't see anything special, but I did find a lone mushroom (Freckled Dapperling?) as I was traversing the sticks and plants. After I got all my observations, it took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to find my way out of the forest. Overall, it was a great day for a nature walk and I will most definitely revisit the Webster Conservation Area again.
